Marc Shinn of Bonner Springs broke
into the StateLine Amateur Tour with a bang today at Paradise Pointe
Golf Complex - The Outlaw. Shinn, playing his first ever
StateLine event, had only one bogey on the day as he shot
an even par 36 on the front and two under 34 on the back to take top
honors in the Open Division with a two under par 70. Andy
Emerson, who was in the last group of Open Division players, had a
bogey on the par four 18th hole to finish one stroke behind the victor
with a one under par 71.
In the Senior Open Division Don
Kuehn of Kansas City played well on his home course with an even par
72 for first place. Despite a bogey on the opening hole and
two
over par 38 on the front, Kuehn bounced back with two under par 34 on
the back. Tom Bachelor followed up his first place finish at
Loch Lloyd with a second place finish today with a one over par 73.
In the Players Division, Tour
newcomer Robert Fernquist and veteran Steve Hammond finished in
first and second place respectively in both gross and net scoring.
Fernquist, a Warrensburg native, led all
golfers with an even par 72 gross score and a four under par 68 net
score. Hammond finished with a 76 and 71.
Much like the Players Division,
the Legends Division also had a clean sweep for low honors.
Grant Renne of Prairie Village topped the field with a 77 gross
score and 72 net score. Playing partner Jim Lodes was also
second in both gross and net scoring with an 80 and 74.
