Nurski Medalist at U.S Open Qualifier

Amateur Brad Nurski, 29 of St. Joseph shot a 3-under par 69 to lead all qualifiers in the local qualifier for the U.S. Open Championship. Nurski's 3-under par performance at the 7,215 yard The Golf Club at Creekmoor was three shots clear of his nearest fellow competitors Steve Groom and Brice Garnett. Gates and Casburn Move into Top 20

Jim Gates and Kris Casburn had high finishes at the Kansas City Masters and moved into the Top 20 of the Bushnell Amateur Standings. With only the U.S. Open local qualifying remaining before the field is announed for The Watson Challenge most players currently in the top 20 are not in jeapoardy of falling out. Platz Wins KC Masters

Shinn Medalist at Paradise Pointe

Marc Shinn of Bonner Springs broke into the StateLine Amateur Tour with a bang today at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex - The Outlaw.  Shinn, playing his first ever StateLine event, had only one bogey on the day as he shot an even par 36 on the front and two under 34 on the back to take top honors in the Open Division with a two under par 70.  Other event winners include; Don Kuehn, Robert Fernquist, and Grant Renne.   ...more plus results

Local Qualifying Field for U.S. Open Announced

87 players will try to earn a spot in one of 13 Sectional qualifying events for the U.S. Open Championship. The local qualifyier will be held at The Golf Club of Creekmoor, May 14. The qualifier is open to the public.

Bachelor Shoots 72 at Loch Lloyd

Tom Bachelor of Olathe made an early season push in the Bushnell Player Standings with a first place finish in the Senior Open Division.  Bachelor was able to fight off high wind gusts and the thick rough at The Country Club at Loch Lloyd.  Other event winners include; Aaron Stevens, Jon Platz, Pat Goeke, Dan Miller, Jim Lodes, Bob Schulze, and Dick Sauer.  ...more plus results

Windy Conditions Make Opening Day a Challenge

The 2008 StateLine Amateur Tour began the season Wednesday at Staley Farms Golf Club. A full field of 102 players battled high winds and quick greens on the par 72 course.  Kris Casburn of Blue Springs shot the low score of the day with a 5-over par 77 to win the Open Division by two strokes over Tour veterans Tim Walla and Steve Groom.  Other event winners include Bob Bezek, Steve Hammond, Jeff Hanson, Grant Renne, and Len Holthaus.   ...more plus results

KC Junior Tour Set for 2008

The KC Junior Tour will get under way on Wednesday, June 4, as both the Champions and Players/Prep divisions will tee it up with shotgun starts at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex on the Posse course.  Regardless of skill, junior golfers ages 9-18 who have an active handicap with a KCGA member club are eligible for the Tour and the opportunity to play on some of the best public and private golf courses in the Kansas City area.  Tour members will have an opportunity to qualify for the season ending Tour Championship which will be hosted by Meadowbrook Country Club.  The KCGA will begin to accept entries for the KC Junior Tour on Monday, March 10, at 9:00 am.  Click here to view the 2008 schedule.

StateLine Amateur ready for 5th season

After much anticipation from the local amateur golf community, the StateLine Tour schedule has been released for 2008.  The Tour is highlighted by three new stops in the coming year including the first event of the year at Staley Farms Golf Club on April 16.  The other new courses to the schedule are Paradise Pointe-The Outlaw and Ironhorse Golf Club.  The invitation only Tour Championship will be hosted at the scenic Sycamore Ridge Golf Club on the weekend of September 27-28.

 

The Tour was founded on the principle of providing adult amateur golfers in the Kansas City golf community the opportunity to play in professionally managed single day competitions on some of the best courses in the region.  Regardless of age or skill level, members of the Tour will compete in an atmosphere similar to that found inside the ropes at big time tour events and national championships.  Click here to view the 2008 schedule.
